Laura Lee Jenkins
Ulster Badminton is deeply saddened by the loss of Laura Lee Jenkins, a former Board Member and distinguished International Para Badminton player.
Laura Lee made an outstanding contribution to badminton both on and off the court. As an athlete, she represented Ireland at a number of International Para Events, European Para Badminton Championships and the 2017 Para World Championships. Over her career, she won multiple medals at UK level, including securing a bronze medal in both singles and doubles events
As an Ulster Badminton Board Member, between 2016-2019, she gave generously of her time, experience, and passion to help develop and promote Para badminton across Ulster
Her experience playing in continental championships laid the groundwork for her appointment onto the Badminton Europe Para-Badminton Commission to help shape policy, classification rules, and accessibility standards for upcoming European tournaments. In January 2018 she was appointed onto the Women in Badminton Commission, focusing on expanding equal opportunities and participation for female para-athletes across Europe.
