About the Club

Hillhall Badminton Club has been in existence since 28th October 1950 when 24 people started playing in The Braniel Hall in Lisburn.

Hillhall badminton Club is a cross community based club which has been existence for 50 years and has a good reputation for fair and encouraging play.

The goals of the club are as follows:
1. To play badminton to the best of our ability and encourage competition
2. Encourage players of all ages to take up the sport
3. Provide a local facility to exercise and remain healthy
4. Provide a social and inviting environment to all members
5. Continue to remain at the heart of the local community.
The club plays competitive badminton in the Ballinderry Badminton League and of late has also played in the Church of Ireland league and Ballinderry Gents league.
Play takes place 2 nights per week on a Tuesday (October – March) and Thursday (September – March) evening in the Robert Watson Memorial Hall which is at the heart of the Hillhall area, right next door to Largymore Primary School.
The club encourages players from the local and surrounding areas and benefits from a membership of players from all age groups and experience. Over the past 2 years we have seen a marked increase in interest from young people under the age of 20 who now form at least 50% of the membership.
