    UK Para Championships 2022


    At the event Ulster/Ireland were successful in winning a Gold in Men’s doubles SL3/4 through Niall Jarvie.

    Niall Jarvie partnering Anthony Forster to a 3 set win over Scotland’s Colin Leslie and Richard Lean 20-22 21-16  21-18.

    Niall also won a silver in MS SL 3 losing in a close 2 set final to Colin Leslie/Scotland.

    Chris Stewart won 3 silvers in WC1 in Men’s singles  starting with a runner up to Owen Kilburn 18-21 10-21 then Chris partnering Michael Smith(Ulster/Ireland) in WC Mens Doubles and Lesley Lineham(England) in WC Mixed doubles-a super tournament for Chris with 3 podium spots.

    Kerrie McCarthy(Ireland) also won a superb silver medal in Women’s Doubles SL4 partnering Scotland’s Mary Wilson and the doubles pairing were just edged out in the final by England’s Emma Stoner and Cambell Plant.

    Another great performance on her Para debut and also a top 4 finish for Ilyas Hussein competing in his debut Para event in SU5!

    Ryan Raghoo Pathway officer for DSNI was also part of the Team(NI/Ulster) competing in his debut Para Singles tournament and played very well with his first experience of a full court environment post classifying observation.

    Well done to all involved doing their provinces and country proud!
