    Irish National Championships & U15 Home Nations quadrangular


    The weekend of 1st October - 3rd October seen the return of the Irish National Championships in Dublin with the U15 Home Nations Quadrangular also taking place over the weekend with some great results from the young Irish Team.

    After 18 months of no competition in Ireland it was great to see the Irish Senior Nationals return as the 1st competition of the season. It was strongly contested across all disciplines and some great performances to take the winners Spot. 2018 Commonwealth Games & Raphoe's Rachael Darragh won 2 titles taking home both the Women's Singles and Mixed Doubles titles, with partner Paul Reynolds. Raphoe also had another winner with Josh Magee winning the Men's Doubles title with Paul Reynolds.  Ballyclare's Laura Comer had a great Women's Doubles event reaching the final with Sophia Noble but lost out to Kate Frost & Moya Ryan. 

    Tony Stephenson had a good run in both the Men's Singles & Men's Doubles reaching the semi final but lost out to Nhat Nguyen in the singles & Guildea & Pontanosa in the doubles.

    Nhat Nguyen took home his 5th Nationals title in the men singles fresh off his debut at the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo.

    Well done to Badminton Ireland and all the volunteer & Officials for running the event during these difficult times.

    U15 Home Nationals Quadrangular - Glasgow, Scotland.
    The U15 Irish team finished an impressive 2nd place in the team event beating both Scotland & Wales before losing out to a strong England team.

    The individual event seen a total of 4 bronze medals for team Ireland including a Bronze in the Men's Doubles for Emerging Performance Squad player Christopher Chee partnering Pranav Erukatlli. Super Job!
