Niall McVeigh, Laura Lee Jenkins and Emma Farnham came away from the Irish Para International with 3 Bronze medals across 3 disciplines.
Lauran Lee Jenkins tasted medal success in the Wheelchair Women’s doubles playing alongside Scotlands Fiona Christie coming through their group in 2nd place, setting up a Semi final against the Switzerland pair Mathez/Suter-Erath, it proved a tough match for the Irish/Scot pair losing out winning 21-13 21-14, but secured a bronze medal.
The next of the Irish medals came from Emma Farnham who won a bronze in the women’s singles short stature class. This category was played as a round robin where Emma put in some great performances to place third in the group after some tough games.
Former SS6 World and European Niall McVeigh came through his Singles group in 2nd place and set up a quarter final against Englands Andrew Martin. It was an extremely close match of high quality with Niall taking the 3rd set 23-21. The semi final also proved a very entertaining match with Niall up against current European champion Krysten Combs from England. After winning a close first set,21-19, Krysten went onto to take the 2nd set 21-10, with Niall settling for a bronze medal.
